Williams, Nonu or Smith: A ridiculous problem to have…

16 11 2010

Here’s a quick thought before Saturday’s Ireland vs New Zealand game and something that is a particularly perplexing (and utterly ridiculous) problem for All Black coach, Graham Henry…

How do you pick two out of Nonu, Smith and Sonny Bill Williams?

Williams has played twice, once at 13 and last weekend at 12, and is looking as good as all the hype suggested he was.

Do Nonu’s defensive errors against Australia three weeks ago count against him? Does Smith lose out as the least glamorous option? Or Does SBW miss out as the new boy giving due deference to possibly the best (perhaps only until he came along?!) partnership in the world?

For our money we’d like to see more of SBW and Smith.

As a reminder here are the highlights of the Scotland match.

small note as per yesterdays conversation, the hosea gear try started on haf way, not on the 20. Every one of those try’s was mesmerizing.
I think sonny bill in 12 for the first half, then bring on Nonu in the second, get him running against tired opposition. Smith can stay on at 13 for the entire match as his work rate is phenomenal.
