Eoin Morgan

What a player!

This is a man who can play all the shots in the book and many that aren’t. The Compulsive Hooker has long been a fan of his; championing his potential from the inception of this blog and advocating his inclusion in the test match team. We are pleased to see that our faith has not been misplaced with Morgan scoring his debut hundred in the first test of the Pakistani series earlier this Summer exactly when England needed it most. With England having slumped to 118-4, Morgan steadied the ship with Collingwood, before launching an excellent counter attack against the spinners later in the day and finally bringing up his 100 with a straight six.

Good enough to have moved such disparate (and usually at odds) experts such as Sunil Gavaskar, Steve Waugh and Shane Warne to name him as one of the key players for the upcoming 2010/11 Ashes series, Morgan is already the lynch pin of the one day and 20/20 sides and surely will be around for many years to come.

No more really needs to be said other than, if you’re still not convinced, click on the videos below!

And now to show just how much time he has to play a shot…
